Principal photography began on 20 March 2015, with Varun Dhawan filming initial scenes in Goa. The film’s production was an international affair, with major schedules in Hyderabad (including the Ramoji Film City), Bulgaria, and the breathtaking landscapes of Iceland. The song "Gerua," a romantic ballad picturised on Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol, was shot in Iceland and became one of the most expensive songs ever filmed in Bollywood. The use of Iceland for its surreal, icy terrain added a unique visual grandeur to the film, making it the first Bollywood movie to shoot there. dilwale.2015
