At first glance, body positivity and wellness seem like opposites. Body positivity says, "Love your body as it is." Wellness says, "Strive to improve your health." But this is a false binary. The clash only happens when wellness is hijacked by —the belief that thinner is always healthier and that you must be constantly "fixing" yourself.

To understand the new way, we must first critique the old way. Traditional wellness culture is often a wolf in sheep's clothing. It masks itself as "self-improvement" but thrives on self-loathing.
